Singler was born on May 4, 1988, in Medford, Oregon, as Kyle Edward Singler, one of three children of Kris and Ed Singler. His father played college football as a quarterback at Oregon State, while his mother was a star basketball player at the same school. However, after winning the Spanish Royal Cup in 2012, Singler returned to the Pistons to compete in his NBA rookie season and earn the honor of the second all-rookie team after that season.

Singler spent three years with the team before switching to Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015. He spent four years with Thunder, making two playoffs in 2016 and 2017, before returning to Spain in 2018 to play for Monbus Obradoiro.

Singler’s next stop was the NBA Development League, after which he moved to Estonia in 2014.
