The American-born Hollywood actor Chace Crawford got his career breakthrough in the successful teenage drama series Gossip Girl in which he impersonated the main character, Nate Archibald. Among several other acting achievements, Crawford also had leading roles in movies like the horror movie The Haunting of Molly Hartley and the action drama Twelve.

Chace Crawford Bio & Age

Christopher Chace Crawford was born on July 18, 1985, in Lubbock, Texas. He has mainly English roots with distant degrees of Scottish, Northern Irish, and German descent. He received his high school education at the Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas. As a teenager, Crawford worked as a model for a number of major retail clothing brands. After graduating in 2003, he enrolled in radio journalism and marketing studies at Pepperdine University. However, he did not complete his studies, as he dropped out to go into acting full-time. While pursuing his acting career, Crawford also worked as a car repairer to make a living.

The year 2006 was Chace Crawford’s first year as a professional actor. He made his acting debut in the horror-thriller film The Covenant (2006), in which he played the role of Tyler Simms, quickly followed by a role in the thriller telefilm Long Lost Son (2006). A year after his acting debut, Crawford received his first role in the highly acclaimed teen drama series Gossip Girl (2007-2012), in which he starred alongside Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Ed Westwick. The talented actor played the main character Nathaniel “Nate” Archibald during the entire 6 seasons of the series. Crawford’s performance on Gossip Girl earned him the Choice TV Breakout Star Award at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, followed by 3 consecutive Choice TV Actors: Drama Awards in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

During his time on Gossip Girl, Crawford also recorded a number of credits on the big screen, including lead roles in the supernatural horror movie The Haunting of Molly Hartley (2008), followed by the teen drama film Twelve (2010). Chace Crawford channeled his funny side in the comedy-drama Peace, Love & Misunderstanding (2011) alongside Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener. He also starred opposite Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in the romantic comedy What to expect when you’re expecting (2012).

On the small screen, Chace Crawford has provided his voice for a number of roles in the animated sitcom Family Guy (2008-10) and a guest role in the highly acclaimed comedy-drama Glee (2014). The talented actor got another chance at a TV superstar when he was given a lead role as Billy LeFever in the prime-time soap Blood & Oil (2015). The series did not survive its first season, however, as it was canceled after only 10 episodes. Since then, he has appeared in comedy films such as Undrafted (2016), Rules Don’t Apply (2016), I Do… Until I Don’t (2017) and the thriller Eloise (2017).

In 2009, Chace Crawford was voted “Hottest Bachelor” of the year by People magazine. Today, in his 30s, the Hollywood star is still very much eligible for this title as he has remained unattached. Although he is unmarried, the Hollywood star has had his fair share of high-profile relationships. Since July 2015 he has been in a love affair with his film colleague Rebecca Rittenhouse. The duo is said to have met in July 2015 when they played together in the short-lived soap opera Blood & Oil.

Before his relationship with Rebecca Rittenhouse, Chace Crawford was also known to have dated actress and model Rachelle Goulding, singer/songwriter Carrie Underwood, and several others.

Is Chace Crawford Gay?

Already at the beginning of his acting career, there were speculations about the sexuality of Chace Crawford. The rumors surfaced when Crawford moved in with his Gossip Girl co-star Ed Westwick. The two Hollywood stars shared an apartment in Manhattan for two years while working together on Gossip Girl. Chace Crawford’s mother Dana (née Plott) worked as a teacher at a school, his father Chris Wayne Crawford is a dermatologist. He grew up with a sibling, a younger sister named Candice. As a former beauty queen, Candice Crawford was also in the spotlight when she has crowned Miss Missouri USA in 2008 and also made it into the top 10 of the Miss USA 2008 election. Chace Crawford is also the brother-in-law of former NFL quarterback and sports analyst Tony Romo, who is married to his sister Candice.
