Olivia Namath’s Early Life And Ancestry

Olivia Rose Namath was born on 11 December 1990. She got her name from her grandmother, Rose Namath.

Her paternal grandparents, Rosa (née Juhász) and János “John” Andrew Namath, a steelworker, were Catholic and of Hungarian origin. Olivia’s Hungarian grandfather András “Andrew” Németh, known in the family as “A.J.”, came to Ellis Island in 1911 on the steamer Pannonia and worked in the coal and steel industry in the Pittsburgh area.

Olivia’s maternal ancestors, the Mays, were one of the wealthy families of Ligonier, Pennsylvania.

Olivia Namath’s Parents’ Marital Relationship

Olivia Namath’s parents, Joe and Deborah Lynn May were married on 7 November 1984. The leisurely ceremony took place in the backyard of one of Deborah’s friends at the Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The wedding was attended by several dozen guests by the pool.

Olivia Namath’s father Joe first met his now ex-wife in the early 1980s. At the time, the quarter-final veteran had decided to enroll in a vocal training course with renowned vocal teacher Arthur Joseph. Coincidentally, May also attends classes at the same institute.

While Joe had just started lessons with Arthur, Mays had already finished. Arthur and Mays had known each other for some time and she even told him about her marriage plans. In Joe Namath’s biography, Arthur said it was her vision. She had always wanted to have a family with a footballer.

They finally met and the very next day they started dating.

After about a year of marriage, Joe and May welcomed their first child, daughter Jessica Namath. A few years after her birth, Joe gave birth to a second daughter, Olivia Namath, on 11 December 1990.

Olivia’s Parents’ Separation After Years Of Togetherness

After raising two daughters, the relationship between Joe and Mae began to crack. Deborah eventually moved out of Joe’s home in September 1998 and started living in California. There she fell in love with a surgeon, Brian Novak. Mays mentioned that she was fed up with Olivia’s father and that she had feelings for Novak.

Olivia’s biological parents were officially divorced in 2000 and her father obtained sole custody of her and her sister. The father of two now lives in his 1.5-hectare house in Key West, Florida. Joe’s house has four bedrooms, and three bathrooms next to a boat dock and a swimming pool. In addition, there is a private 18-hole golf course in Tequesta.

Olivia Namath Has An Older Sister

Olivia Namath has only one sister, her older sister Jessica, who is about four years older than her. Jessica is a graduate of the University of Alabama, the same college her father attended.

Olivia’s older sister is married to a guy called Brian Kennedy, with whom she has one son. Their relationship broke down and Jessica filed for divorce in August 2019.

Olivia Namath Had Her First Child At 16

In August 2007, Olivia Namath gave birth to a baby girl, Natalie, with her husband, West Palm Beach. She was 16 years old at the time. People reported that Natalie was living with May in California at the time, for reasons unknown. At the time, she was still in high school in Florida.

After the birth of Olivia’s daughter, her father Joe told the Palm Beach Post that some things are wonderful and Natalie’s birth was one of them. He added that he was glad that everyone was healthy.

The child’s birth certificate gave the father’s name as Edwin Baker III, who was 19 years old at the time. As a known fact, Olivia’s husband Baker was born in Jupiter, Fla. He was arrested three times by police in 2006 on charges of possession of methamphetamine, grand theft, and burglary. A year earlier, police arrested him and charged him with robbing a McDonald’s restaurant.

The Daily News reported that Joe’s ex-wife took the child to live with her in California so that Olivia could finish high school.

Her Married Life With Husband Edwin Baker

Olivia Namath married her husband Baker in 2013 at the historic Ca’d’Zan mansion of circus king John Ringling. As already mentioned, the couple has a daughter together, Natalie.

Professionally, Olivia’s husband Baker is an artist whose work is rooted in street art and has found inspiration in artists such as Picasso and Basquiat.

In May 2018, Baker created the collage piece “I Get Better Looking Every Day” (2018). It was intended for the fourth annual edition of Becker’s Art New York Biennial.

Police Arrested Olivia For Possessing Illegal Substances

In 2010, three years after the birth of her first child, Olivia was stopped by police in West Palm Beach for speeding. Later, a police officer found an open bottle of rum and cannabis in her car.

Olivia, who was 19 at the time, was driving a silver Mercedes when police asked her to stop, the Palm Beach Post reported at the time. After searching the car, the arresting officer found half a kilo of the pot, the Post report said. Olivia denies any knowledge of the substance.

Olivia And Her Sister Tested The Patience Of Their Parents

Joe Namath said in a 2005 interview with the New York Times that raising his daughters was most difficult when they were between 12 and 17 years old. The former footballer complained that the years from 12 to 17 were difficult. He recalled incidents and said that somewhere in there it just became almost like they were not realistic, or rational.

However, he marked these moments as good because the main thing was to learn to be patient, to keep listening, and not just to hear. Olivia’s father added that understanding in those moments would not have been important in those years.

Her Mother Helped Her Father Get Sober

In a 2015 ESPN publication about Joe Namath, it was reported that his wife, Deborah Mays, played a key role in helping him become sober in 1987. Olivia’s father said that Mays gave him an ultimatum in which she told him that if he did not stop drinking it would break up their family. Joe eventually gave up drinking, although he experienced relapses around the time of the divorce in 2003 and during the infamous Monday Night Football game in the same year.

What Is Olivia Namath Doing In The Present?

Unlike Jessica, Olivia Namath doesn’t appear as often with her father Joe Namath. However, this does not mean that she is estranged from her father. The former Super Bowl champion has appeared several times with Olivia and her husband Edwin at his art exhibition.

Unlike her father, Olivia is hard to tame on social media. Although it’s hard to say that she doesn’t have any account on the internet, she seems to shy away from podcasts like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the like. And her husband is not far from this position.
