As an adolescent, she had a passion for journalism and media from an early age, and this probably influenced her decision to study broadcasting and communications at Washington State University, Murrow College of Communication School. During her studies, Kerith reportedly played basketball occasionally, and at other times played field hockey and soccer.

She began her media career at Washington State University’s (WSU) official television station – Cable 8 Productions, where she spent the next four years of her budding career. At that time Kerith Burke also hosted a 3-hour music radio show on KZUU 90.7 FM every Friday morning early in the morning, which she loved very much. After that, she got her first TV job at a TV station in Pasco (a city in Washington) as a reporter for general affairs. At this station, she soon found her way as their interim sports director, and from that point on Kerith knew that her career in the media was more inclined toward sports journalism.

She worked in Pasco for some time before moving to Boise (a town in Idaho) and then to Raleigh (a town in North Carolina) to cover the ACC Duke and North Carolina basketball teams and their Hall of Fame coaches Mike Krzyzewski and Roy Williams. In February 2007, she began working for KTVB News Channel 7 ABC Eyewitness News, where she remained until August 2011. Over time, and as her career grew, Kerith Burke worked as a reporter for Sportsnet New York (SNY), where she covered the UConn Women’s National Basketball Championships, held consecutively from 2013 to 2016. She also hosted the Geno Auriemma Show and reported on the gold medal winners of the US women’s team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Kerith Burke then worked with a number of media outlets including Sterling Communications, NBC Universal Media, and SD Nation before moving into the spotlight as a reporter and sports presenter for the NBC Sports Bay Area and the Golden State Warriors starting in October 2017. As part of her work, she covered all of the network’s major broadcasts such as Golden State Warriors Pregame Live, Postgame Live, and other NBA events.

She has also conducted interviews with the team’s greats such as Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, Nick Young, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry. She described Stephen as the “meekest superstar” she knows, who has time for everyone and treats everyone equally.
