James Middleton (35) looks back on a difficult time in his life. As the brother of Princess Kate (41), the entrepreneur has been in the public eye for many years. The Briton keeps his 243,000 subscribers up to date about his everyday life online. Earlier this year, he shared that his beloved therapy dog, Bella, passed away. Now James revealed that in addition to the four-legged friend, his family also helped him during his depressive phases.

In an emotional tribute to his beloved dog, cited by the Daily Mail, the 35-year-old says Bella has been with him through the low points of his life. However, he was also fortunate that his sisters Pippa (39) and Kate and their parents supported him in the difficult moments of his life and were always there for him – even if they might not always have understood what he was going through. “I was very fortunate that they were willing to embark on this and understood that it’s a process that doesn’t have a quick fix,” he said. Finally, James added, “I think we’ve grown from that as a family.”

Shortly after Ella’s passing, James posted a soulful obituary for the dog on Instagram. “Ella was by my side for 15 years, in my darkest and my happiest days. I will miss her terribly,” he assured under two black and white photos.
