Ever Wondered who is Dominique Dawes Husband? Most of the time it doesn’t matter who was there before you. With determination, consistency, and hard work, you can surpass the traces of your predecessors (if there were any) and set new ones for those who will come after you. Dominique Dawes, with the famous name Awesome Dawesome, changed the course of artistic gymnastics for the people of her race with her world-class performances and gained international renown.

She is a retired American artistic gymnast who was a celebrated national champion, world champion, and three-time Olympic medalist. Awesome Dawesome was in the US national team for 10 years, where she won the title of American all-around national champion in 1994.

After her national success, she joined the international team and was a member of the “Magnificent Seven” to win gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Other members of the team are Shannon Miller, Jaycie Phelps, Dominique Moceanu, Amanda Borden, Amy Chow, and Kerri Strug.

Dominique Dawes is undeniably a pioneer. She was the first black person of any nationality or gender to win an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics. Her medal case contains four Olympic medals (gold in the team competition in 1996, team bronzes in 1992 and 2000, and individual bronze on the floor in 1996), four medals at World Championships (silver on beam and uneven bars in 1993, team silver in 1994 and a beam bronze in 1996).

In recognition of her extremely successful career and her great services to the world of gymnastics, Dominique Dawes was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1998, the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2009, and the USA Olympic Hall of Fame in 2008 (in addition to the Magnificent Seven).

Dominique Dawes Husband

Dominique Dawes Husband was born as a daughter of Loretta and Don Dawes together with two siblings: the older sister Danielle Dawes-Thompson and the younger brother Don Dawes Jr.

The Olympian is a married woman and mother. She has proved to be an exceptional athlete but did not fail to impress us with her skills, as she is a wife and mother, and as a mother, she won a gold medal. Dominique Dawes doesn’t miss raving about her wonderful family on her social media account and often spoils her fans with beautiful pictures and updates about the latest news from her private life.

She also explained that motherhood is more like the double work you have to do to get to the Olympics, participate, and win and that you have to raise your young children full of energy, as it is like children.

Dominique Dawes became engaged to Jeff Thompson, a Catholic school teacher, in December 2012 and formed the bond of marriage a few months later, on 25 May 2013. Their first child, a daughter, Kateri, was born in March 2014. Since then, her family has grown with the latest addition, a pair of twins, a girl and a boy, Lincoln, and Dakota, born in January 2018. However, the twins are preceded by a girl, Quinn, who was born in September 2015, making a total of 4 children.

Like her highly athletic mother, Dominique’s older daughters are also interested in the sport in which she excels. Of course, she has praised them for enrolling them in classes and accompanying them to rehearsals. Perhaps the world should wait for the emergence of one or two gymnastic phenomena shortly while they hopefully continue the course. In addition, their eldest child has also kept an eye on ballet and has already started taking dance lessons.

Body Measurement

Dominique Dawes leads a healthy lifestyle and has also accustomed her children to it. The mother and her girls go for a walk in the morning or spend their time in a park where they train or just walk around. What can we say about this? For a woman who has spent almost 2 decades as an active athlete, you can’t expect anything less from her.

She may not be a giant, but she has proven that height certainly has nothing to do with success when persistence, discipline, and dedication take the lead. She is 5′ 2″ (1.57 m) tall and weighs 54 kg (119 lbs) with an attractive and well-shaped body. However, her body measurements are not available.
