They immediately developed a friendship that soon developed into a romantic relationship. The exact year they met or married is not known, but they were already married in 1996, according to a 2009 Chicago Business publication.

Lori decided in 1996 not to let her ideas go to waste after she came in with a book she had a similar idea to sell as a bestseller. At that time she was designing and selling her costume jewelry.

In the same year, she came up with the idea of inventing a plastic jewelry holder that would fit 100 pairs of jewelry, and her husband quickly supported her. With a $300,000 loan, Lori was able to make a prototype. She successfully persuaded the J.C. Penny department store to buy the product, and within the next 18 months, she had become a rich woman.

After six years in the business, Dan quit his job as Division Controller at Bell and Howell Corporation and joined his wife’s company For Your Ease Only as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

In 2009, publications showed that Dan and Lori were working from the same desk in their home. Dan may not be an inventor, but he is a great manager. As a trained accountant, he handles the company’s inventory issues and also oversees packaging, parts, and shipping. Lori, on the other hand, takes care of sales, marketing, creative and legal matters. She simply drives the business forward.
