Austin Durant Mozee Carr was born on December 25, 1993. It is generally believed that Austin Durant Mozee Carr has had enough time to find a beautiful place for himself in the history of the NFL. According to records, Carr was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. Details about his upbringing are hard to know, but we can say that he was a student at Benicia High School, where he excelled academically, in soccer and other sports.

It is said that he was the best scorer in school when he wanted to go to college. As a senior, Austin collected up to 11 touchdown receptions with 844 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns for 1,481 hurried yards. This achievement earned him a handful of prestigious awards, including the All-Solano County Athletic Conference honor. Carr was also honored as the most valuable player on his team.

Education was important to Austin Carr, as he studied philosophy as a student at Northwestern University and eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in that field. Austin Carr did not stop there when he earned a master’s degree in management studies at the university’s Kellogg School of Management.

When he played for the Wildcats at Northwestern University, Carr went from being an errand boy to team captain and was named to the consensus of the first team in the All-Big-Ten selection. He was also honored as Judge Howard Big Ten Receiver of the Year (2016) and twice as a member of the Academic All-Big-Ten. Among other things, he was the first player in the history of the Wildcats to score a touchdown for the team in six consecutive games. In total, he played 36 games for the Northwestern football team, scoring 14 touchdowns and 133 receptions over 1,649 yards.

As fate would have it, the 2017 NFL Draft left Austin Carr as an uncalled-up free player. But then the New England Patriots came along and eventually signed him up sometime in May 2017, and a few months later, on September 2, 2017, the Patriots gave him up and gave the New Orleans Saints a chance to claim him the next day. As at the time of writing this article, he played only a few games professionally.

His Wife and Family

The Saints’ wide receiver parents – Evan Carr and Janine Mozee – did not force him to find a purpose in music-making as they did, they allowed him to choose his own path. Austin cultivated his interests in both the visual arts and athletics but eventually decided to build a career in athletics.

Since his parents are musically inclined, it is no surprise that he writes songs and even plays the piano in his spare time. From what we have learned, his father was a successful drummer, while his mother is a classically trained pianist.

Austin is married to Erica Carr, and both are passionate about their Christian faith. Like Austin, Erica Carr is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned a degree in History and International Studies. She is as athletically inclined as her husband was when she ran cross-country at Northwestern University. Austin once twisted that he married her because of her 100% willingness to train with him. He also declared her to be his “homie” and “comfort giver” on Instagram, they got married sometime in July 2017.

Erica has been involved with Athletes in Action (AIA) activities since her college days. Since Austin Carr’s NFL career forced him and his wife to move to New Orleans, Louisiana, after his involvement with the Saints, Erica has now found a purpose in supporting AIA activities at universities in the region. AIA’s mission is to use sports as a platform to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Carrs are keen to see the Holy Spirit transformed alive in New Orleans. We noticed that the Wide Receiver even volunteers to New Orleans, Louisiana’s AIA, as the leader of the Discipleship of Men.

An NFL player is not only expected to be a talented and skillful footballer but also to be physically fit and of good height and weight. Austin was not found to be inadequate in this regard, as he is 1.82 meters tall and weighs 195 pounds. Other details of his body measurements have yet to be confirmed, but his physique is rarely considered one of his weaknesses in this profession.
