Justin Qualley is the son of actress Andie MacDowell and her ex-husband Paul Qualley. He is the eldest of his parents’ three children. Justin Qualley was born on 14 August 1986. His maternal grandmother, Pauline “Paula” Johnston (née Oswald), was a music teacher and his grandfather, Marion St Pierre McDowell, was a timber production manager.

His ancestors are of English, French, Scottish, Irish and Welsh descent. Justin’s actress mother, McDowell’s family owned an antebellum cottage in Arden, North Carolina, which has since been turned into a hotel called the Blake House Inn.

On his father’s side, Justin is of Norwegian descent. Qually’s grandmother, also McDowell’s mother, suffered a nervous breakdown and had to undergo shock therapy. She was often stigmatized because of her illness. For this reason, she began to seek solace in alcohol.

Writing a rather long tribute to her son via her Instagram, McDowell said it was really hard for her to realize that her son was 35. The ‘Groundhog Day’ actress shared how Justin’s arrival changed everything about who she is because she no longer cared about anything other than him.

The Golden Globe nominee revealed that she lives in New York, works as a model, and is trying very hard to break into the acting business. She was 27 at the time and found it a bit difficult when she discovered that Justin was growing inside her belly.

However, McDowell mentioned that the news was the biggest blessing of her life. She also explained that at that time she was young in her business to take such decisions. However, McDowell made motherhood her top priority. She did not want to build a career at the expense of not being able to have a family.

Justin Culley’s mother, Andie McDowell, is a famous name in the American film industry. She made her film debut in the 1984 films Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, and Lord of the Apes, McDowell won critical acclaim for her role in Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), for which she won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama.

Qualley’s mother received several more Golden Globe nominations for Green Card (1990) and Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994).

Justin’s younger sister and McDowell’s youngest child, Margaret Qualley (full name Sarah Margaret Qualley) trained as a ballerina in her youth and briefly pursued a modeling career. Margaret was born in 1994. She is also a model and actress and has modeled for New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and many magazines.

Cully made her acting debut with a small role in the 2013 drama film Palo Alto. She gained recognition for her portrayal of a troubled teenager in the HBO drama series The Leftovers (2014-2017). Margaret then starred in the black comedy The Nice Guys (2016) and the Netflix supernatural thriller Death Note (2017).

Rainey Qualley, Justin Qualley’s sister and the middle of the three McDowell children is also an actress and singer. She made her acting debut in Mighty Fine (2012). Justin is 4 years older than his sister Rainy, who was born in 1990. She is the winner of the 2012 Golden Globe.

Rainey is mainly known for releasing and writing music under the name Rainsford. She has also starred in Mad Men and Love In The Time Of Corona. Other film credits include “Ocean’s 8,” “Perfect” and “Falcon Song.

Justin’s parents met when Paul was posing as a model for GAP Advertising Services. They lived together for 13 years, during which time they had three children, including Justin. His father used to be a ranch owner.

Andi and Paul divorced in 1999. The family had just moved from Montana to Carolina.

On 10 November 2001, Justin’s mother married businessman Rhett Hartzog. However, she divorced him in October 2004.
