Little Mix is a British girl group founded during the eighth season by The X-Factor from Great Britain. The group was formed in 2011 and was the first group to win the competition. After winning the competition, they signed with Syco Music, Simon Cowell’s record label, and released a cover version of Cannonball by Damien Rice as their winning single.
They later released their first album DNA in 2012. The album reached the top ten in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, making it the first women’s group since the Pussycat Dolls to reach the top five in the United States with their debut album. They also managed to break a record held by the Spice Girls by achieving the highest US debut of any British women’s group.

Their second album Salute was released in 2013 and also made it into the top ten in several countries. The album’s lead singles – Salute and Move – also reached the top ten charts in the UK.
In 2015 they released their third studio album Get Weird. Get Weird was their most successful album to date. The album’s lead single, Black Magic, not only reached number one in the UK but was also nominated for two awards at the Brit Awards 2016.
Her next album was released in 2016 and it became her first number one album in the UK. It also became the longest-reigning number one women’s group album since the Spice Girls’ debut album two decades earlier. The album included the incredibly successful hit song Shoutout To My Ex as well as Touch and Power.
The song “Shout Out To My Ex” was named the best British single at the 2017 Brit Awards. It also won other prizes at the Glamour Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards.
In 2016, the group had eleven certified singles and four platinum-certified albums in the UK, cementing their status as one of the best-selling girl bands of all time. They are also to be congratulated as one of the most successful musicians of modern British pop culture. Little Mix is made up of four beautiful and extraordinary women – Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson.
Perrie Edwards
Perrie was born Perrie Louise Edwards on July 10, 1993, as the daughter of Deborah Duffy and Alexander Edwards. She grew up in the neighborhood of Whiteleas in South Shields. She has a younger half-sister on her father’s side – Caitlin Edwards – and an older brother, Jonnie. She also attended Radipole Primary School in Weymouth before moving to South Shields. She also attended St Peter and Paul RC Primary School in South Shields before moving to Mortimer Community College. At Mortimer Community College she achieved excellent academic results. She later moved to Newcastle College where she graduated with a BTEC in Performing Arts.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock
Leigh-Anne Pinnock was born on 4 October 1991. Leigh-Anne, who is of Jamaican and Barbadian descent, grew up in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Before she joined Little Mix and became successful, she was a waitress at Pizza Hut.
In her first audition for The X-Factor, she sang Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World).
Jesy Nelson
Jesy was born on June 14, 1991, as Jessica Louise Nelson. She was brought up in East London by her parents, Janice White and John Nelson, with two brothers – Jonathan and Joseph – and an older sister, Jade.
For her secondary education, she attended Jo Richardson Community School. Later she also attended Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College in Essex, where her love of music and drama was noted. Later she also attended the theatre schools of Sylvia Young and Yvonne Rhodes for further education.
Since becoming a member of Little Mix, she has had to deal with cyberbullying, which meant that she had difficulties coping with it during her time with The X Factor.
At her first audition for The X-Factor, she sang Jazmine Sullivan’s Bust Your Windows.

Jade Thirlwall
Jade Amelia Thirlwall was born on 26 December 1992 in South Shields’ Laygate neighborhood and grew up there. She has a mixture of Egyptian and Yemeni descent and auditioned for The X Factor in 2008, but left before returning in 2010. She also attended South Tyneside College, a performing arts college.
The singer is a supporter of the LGBTQ community. She has also admitted that she struggled with anorexia to cope with her bullying at school and the death of her grandfather.
