Who would have thought? Sarah Michelle Gellar (45) should be known to many through her participation in Buffy – The Vampire Slayer. But long before she made her acting skills available for the hit series, Sarah was in front of the camera. For example, the blonde acted in a commercial for the Burger King restaurant chain at a young age. In fact, Sarah was subsequently sued by her fast-food rival McDonald’s!
Speaking to Buzzfeed UK, the now 45-year-old said: “It’s actually almost funny today. I was in an ad for Burger King and I mentioned the name of the competing chain in the clip. McDonald’s then sued the ad agency, Burger King, and me too – at the age of five!” Sarah jokes that the only thing she thought of while filming was that she wanted to eat a burger.
In 2004, the series actress also stated that she was no longer allowed to order from McDonald’s during the ongoing court proceedings and therefore almost never ate fast food as a child. “It was very hard because it felt like every kid celebrated their birthday at McDonald’s – except me, so I really missed a lot,” said the actress.
