Robert Vaughn was born on 22 November 1932 in New York City. Both his parents were actors. His father, Gerald Walter Vaughn, was a radio actor, and his mother, Marcella Frances, a stage actress. He has no known siblings and spent his childhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his grandparents.

He made his first film appearance in a supporting role in the biblical epic film The Ten Commandments. A celebrated actor, one of his most famous appearances was in The Young Philadelphians, which was shot in 1959. He was nominated for both the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. In his illustrious career, he has starred in over 200 films, received numerous awards and many other nominations, including an Emmy Award in 1978.

In his youth, Robert Vaughn was charming and glamorous. He was the superstar who had a penchant for parties, and he hosted some that included big names like Steve McQueen and Jake Nicholson. At one of these parties, he met Kathy Seaton, a beautiful lady who was thirteen years younger than him. The age difference did not prevent her from having a passionate affair that lasted three years in shared homes in Surrey and Hollywood. The relationship did not end well when Kathy became pregnant and before the child was born and paternity was established, Robert is said to have had an affair with his soon-to-be wife Linda Staab. In 1974 Robert Vaughn made the alliance with Linda Staab, who worked as a model and actress. They remained married until his death.

Children, Family

At the birth of Mathew Vaughn, there was some uproar as his mother Kathy Ceaton claimed he was the son of Robert Vaughn. The iconic actor, for his part, categorically rejected such claims, as a court had already ruled in his favor in the 1970s that he was not the biological father of Matthew. He also said that when he looked through the records, there were DNA results to further support his point. In response to a question a few years ago, Robert said he had not seen the boy since he was a child and they had not had any contact since then.

Matthew has made a name for himself in the film industry with his own work, along with his friend Guy Ritchie, whom he met in 1995. Robert has children whom he acknowledges as his own, even though they were adopted. A boy named Cassidy and a girl named Caitlin.

With a career spanning nearly six decades, it is fairly safe to assume that Robert Vaughn would have been able to accumulate a small fortune for himself, and he did. He had a net worth of an astonishing $10 million. That’s by no means a small fortune.

Death

As the saying goes, death is a debt that every man must pay. Robert Vaughn was no exception when he succumbed to the clutches of death on November 11, 2016, after a battle with acute leukemia. Vaughn’s manager said in a speech to the media that Mr. Vaughn died with his family around him.

At the time of his death, Robert Vaughn was only 11 days from his 84th birthday. He died at his home in Ridgefield, Connecticut. In the period following the announcement of his death, honors from around the world streamed in as befits an icon.
