Commenting on his passing on his official Twitter account, William said: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of John Motson – he was a legend and his voice was football.” He further emphasized: “My thoughts are with his family and friends.” The Prince of Wales received a lot of encouragement on the short message platform for his obituary.
