Nick Young is an American professional basketball player who currently plays as a shooting guard and small forward. He demonstrates his skills as part of the Golden State Warriors team for the National Basketball Association (NBA).
In his years as a college baller, Young played for the USC Trojans. He also participated twice in the first round of the Pac-10 selection for the overall conference, and in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft, he was ranked 16th by the Washington Wizards.
In the summer of 2017 Young became a free agent and finished a season with an average of 13.2 points in every game. He joined the Golden State Warriors in 2018 knowing that he could make more money with another team if he signed. Now he plays with players like Kevin Durant, Steven Kerr, and Draymond Green.
Young has played for other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Nick Young Biography
Nick Young was born in Reseda, California on June 1, 1985, the son of Charles Young, Sr. and Mae Young.
The basketball player has a cousin named Kevon Looney, who is also an NBA player and is a cousin of the music artist Kendrick Lamar. At the age of 5, Young lost one of his older brothers, Charles Young Jr, who was the victim of a gang crossfire. The tragic incident hit Young so hard that he had to be committed to a psychiatric institution.
Nevertheless, he grew up to be a big basketball fan and played for Cleveland High School in a suburb. Top of the class in 2004, Young averaged 27.2 points and 10.8 rebounds, earning him first place in the Los Angeles Times All-City, San Fernando Valley First Team Honours, and CIF L.A. City Section. This year he was also named the seventh-best player in the country and was included in the top 50 recruits.
Young remembered his youth and said he had always wished to be “on this stage”. He says he was 15 years old when his older brother Terrell drove him downtown Los Angeles to see the Lakers celebrate their NBA title in 2000. As one of the main fans of the Lakers at the time, Young was amazed to see the 250,000 or so people who also watched his idol, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

Professional Career
Young began his professional career after high school and played for the University of Southern California between 2004 and 2007. Shortly after he was voted 16th overall by the Washington Wizards in the 2007 NBA draft, he played his first NBA career game against the Sacramento Kings in December of the same year.
During his partnership with Washington Wizards from 2007 to 2012, Young was at the peak of his career, scoring 43 points against the Sacramento Kings in 2011.
The NBA star later accepted a one-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in July 2012 and then moved on to the Los Angeles Lakers the following year. During his time with the Lakers, he set a team record and increased his score to 17.9.
He continued to play for the Lakers with a renewed $21.5 million contract from 2014 to 2018 and is currently under contract with the Golden State Warriors as number 6 to fill the positions of Shooting Guard and Small Forward.
As with most athletes, the game involves injuries, and Young has his own fair share. So far he has suffered several injuries, including a radial collateral ligament in his right thumb, which kept him from playing for about eight weeks in 2014. Again, he suffered a tense calf muscle in his right leg, which kept him out of the game for about a month in 2016.
But throughout his busy and progressive career, Young finds time and ways to make a positive impact on society. Inspired by the death of his older brother, he founded the Nick Young Foundation to help end gang violence and offer psychiatric help to victims. On other occasions, he organized free basketball camps for the less privileged children.

Nick Young Relationship With Iggy Azalea
Nick Young and Australian-born rapper Iggy Azalea started their relationship in September 2013 and got engaged a few years later. It was at his 30th birthday party when Young Azalea proposed and she accepted.
Their relationship has broken up since then, and both have gone their separate ways, but not before the controversial video of Young’s confession of infidelity.
The video showed a private conversation between Young and his L.A. Laker teammate, D’Angelo Russell, who recorded Young while sharing his scams with Azalea. She was seen on several occasions without the $500,000 diamond engagement ring that Young had given her. In the meantime, Young already has a mom, Keonna Green, who gave birth to two children, son Nick Jr. and daughter Navi for the basketball player. Green is an entrepreneur and owner of TNK Hair Studios in L.A. and their relationship began in high school, 2002 when she was a cheerleader.
In the midst of the controversial break-up between Young and his girlfriend Azalea in 2015, Green was pregnant in just a few weeks. In response to her role in the separation, she said she would “not apologize for being in love with Nick Young. The two are reportedly back together again, and Young seemed happy when he took the mother of his children to a fancy restaurant in West Hollywood last year.
