He then attended a Department I school by enrolling in a 10-day Internet-based course program at Brigham Young University. By attending and passing these courses Michael was able to replace the Ds and Fs he had earned in previous classes such as English with the ace he had earned over the Internet.
Michael received football scholarship offers from various colleges and decided to settle for the University of Mississippi scholarship: where he would play for the Ole Miss Rebels football team.
In 2008, Michael Oher initially declared his intention to enter the NFL Draft; however, two days later he decided to withdraw and return for his senior year with the Ole Miss National Team.
At the conclusion of the 2008 season, Michael Oher was unanimously selected to be part of the first-team All-American squad; this marked his second time on the honor roll (the first being in his second year) and he graduated with a degree in criminal law during spring 2009.
