In Los Angeles, California, the South Korean entertainer was born on September 4, 1993, as Mark Tuan. Although he was born in the United States, his father Raymond Tuan is from Taiwan.

Mark Tuan was raised by his father and mother, Dorine Tuan, together with his three siblings in Los Angeles, but the family had also moved to various places such as Brazil and Paraguay before finally moving to South Korea.
