A broken Roberts had to take a two-year break to get her act together. When she returned she found love again in the eyes of country singer Lyle Lovett. They were married in 1993 but the marriage lasted only two years because they divorced in 1995.

Roberts then started romancing Benjamin Bratt in 1998 but it only took time to reveal that they were not meant for each other.
