Jackson Mahomes, the younger sibling of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been charged with assault.
According to the Kansas City Chiefs, he is accused of assaulting a server and restaurant proprietor in Overland Park, Kansas, in late February.
A 19-year-old male waiter, who requested anonymity, says Jackson shoved him. This was prior to reportedly forcing Aspen Vaughn, the 40-year-old female proprietor of Aspen’s Restaurant and Bar, to kiss him.
The alleged incidents happened on February 25 at Aspens Restaurant and Longue in Overland Park, Kansas. The owner, Aspen Vaughn, claimed to have footage of Mahomes grasping her neck and attempting to kiss her twice.
As part of their investigation into the claim, police are reviewing security footage from last Saturday night at the company. Footage of the fight between Mahomes and Vaughn has gone viral on social media.
Mahomes allegedly arrived at the restaurant with five friends around 9:30 p.m. on February 25. When they entered an office in the basement and shut the door, the waiter reportedly attempted to grab his water bottle.
The party ultimately moved to an upper VIP room. After smelling the smell of marijuana wafting from that area, Vaughn allegedly encouraged the group to stop smoking.
Mahomes then asked for a private meeting with Vaughn to discuss the alleged push on the waitress. He reportedly grabbed her neck as he joined her in the basement office.
Police also told them that it would be “inappropriate” to provide a report of the incident or any other information.
Brandan Davies, Jackson Mahomes’ lawyer, told the publication, “Jackson has done nothing wrong.”
