While getting to know each other, Duchess Meghan (41) and Queen Elizabeth II (96) are said to have talked enthusiastically about Meghan’s work as an actress, but also about England and the Commonwealth. The two women seemed to hit it off right away. In the twenty-minute conversation, the actress is said to have given the head of England her word: she never wants to let the Queen down when it comes to the Commonwealth!
After her marriage, Meghan was appointed Vice-President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust by the Queen. She and her husband Prince Harry have hoped to continue this work after Megxit, they wrote in their resignation statement.
