Dianna Russini is an American sports journalist who began her career in 2003. The biggest break in her career so far came in 2015, when she joined ESPN as a SportsCenter anchor. She also covers the NFL.

Dianna Russini was born on 11 February 1983 in the Bronx, New York City, New York, where she grew up. As a child, Dianna was very curious. She attended Old Tappan High School in New Jersey, where her interest in journalism grew. Due to her great passion for sports, Dianna has never entirely focused on journalism.
In high school, she was an all-state athlete with 4 sports and played basketball, soccer, softball, and athletics. Her weakest sport was football and her strongest was the track. But also in basketball with Brian Dunn as head coach she was very good.
Although Russini was a 5-foot-6 striker, She was a three-year starter for the university basketball team.
After graduating from high school, Russini enrolled at Goerge Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia Campus) as a soccer player. Although she was her weakest sport, she was determined to prove to her friends that she could make it to the Division 1 level. And she did when she quickly improved to become the team’s striker in her second year.
Russini did not abandon her interest in journalism, although she did an internship at some local radio stations after her football training. However, she remained insecure about which to focus until the 2001 9/11 attacks.
Dianna revealed in an interview with High School Sports that this was the moment when she decided to do full-time journalism.
“I remember watching this anchor named Robin Meade on CNN. And I loved her, just immediately, there was something about her. I remember talking to my teammates about it and thinking, “I think I want to do this,” but I still wasn’t so sure. And then September 11th happened……….After that, I knew I wanted to be a journalist.”

As a student, Russini became a Student Sideline Reporter for Comcast from 2003 until her graduation in 2005. Russini graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.
For two years, between 2005 and 2007, she reported for News 12 Westchester. She then worked for WNBC, New York, Comcast Sports in Seattle, Portland, NBC 30 in West Hartford, Connecticut, and NBC in Washington D.C.
Her ESPN job came in September 2015. In her interview with High School Sports, Russini revealed that before landing the job she worked as a local sports anchor for the parents of the man running SportsCenter. She revealed that she “put in a good word” for her.

Russini had never been married, although she was romantically connected with a number of men. In 2008 she dated the American baseball player David Wright, but it seems that the relationship lasted no longer than a year. Wright married the supermodel Molly Beers in 2013.

Fresh in her ESPN job in 2015, Dianna was charged with uselessness. Washington Redskins General Manager Scot McCloughan’s wife Jessica McCloughan accused her of being her husband’s temp, and worse, she claimed Russini gave BJ’s to players in exchange for information about the team.
Jessica McCloughan made the claims on Twitter only that the account should be deleted shortly thereafter, so many speculated that her account was hacked.
Mrs. McCloughan later apologized and said that her actions were inappropriate. Her statement was;
A number of sports journalists have beaten Mrs. McCloughan for her behavior and said that her comments are based only on the usual misperceptions that sports journalists often have.
