Brandon Weeden is an American football quarterback who currently plays for the Houston Texans of the NFL. The athlete has definitely made a name for himself since his professional debut. Before playing for the Houston Texans, he played for the Cleveland Browns, The Tennesse Titans, and the Dallas Cowboys. While in college, he also played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Brandon Weeden: Biography

Brandon Kyle Weeden was born on October 14, 1983. He attended Edmond Santa Fe High School, where he was the school’s quarterback. At 19, he led his high school team to victory and was named team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year.

Originally, Brandon was not interested in football at first, he was more interested in baseball and even made it into the second round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft. Between 2002 and 2005 he played for several teams including the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Kansas City Royals. But in 2006 he played his last professional baseball season, which he was unable to continue due to injuries and a series of poor performances.

Brandon transferred to Oklahoma State University in 2007 and did not play in any of his first-year games. In 2008, Weeden began playing for the university team – the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He was an exceptional player and even led the Cowboys to a comeback victory in November of that year. He maintained the top performance, and in 2012, at the 2012 Fiesta Bowl, Weeden threw 399 yards and scored 4 touchdowns.

During his college football career, he has achieved a lot, including being named a finalist for the Manning Award in 2010, Player of the Year in 2010, and Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Champion in 2012.

NFL & Career Stats

Brandon switched to professional football after college and began playing for the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Although he was much older, Brandon did not let this affect his performance.

In 2014, he signed a two-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, his performance level was low and he was put on the bench for a number of games. For the 2015 season, the Houston Texans claimed Texans Weeden and he led the team to their first win in Indianapolis.

Brandon was then released by the Texans on September 2, 2017. He signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans in October but became a free agent shortly thereafter. On March 27, 2018, he made a second move to the Houston Texans and retained his position as quarterback. His NFL career statistics from 2017 onward include passing scores (559), passing attempts (965), passing yards (6,462), and pass rating (76.0).

Brandon was born into the family of Robbie and Sharie Weeden. He has a younger brother, Tyler Miles Weeden, who is a baseball player. Tyler was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the MLB June Amateur Draft 2006. As a teenager, Tyler made the New York Penn League All-Star Team in 2007. Like his brother Brandon, Tyler was on Edmond Santa Fe’s high school team. The Weeden’s currently live in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Brandon is currently building his own family with his wife and son. Brandon is very proud of his family as you can see by the way he publishes pictures of them on Instagram.

Personal Life – Wife, Kid

On a more personal level, Brandon Weeden is married to Melanie Meuser and they have a son – Cooper Weeden. With Cooper’s arrival in 2014, Brandon and Melanie became parents for the first time. Brandon was very excited and ready to adapt to the new experience.

The love story of Melanie and Brandon began when Melanie was a freshman at Oklahoma State University. They started dating but sadly separated after two months together. Four years later, the two met again and resumed their relationship where they had left off. The couple married on July 27, 2009, in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.

Melanie was among those who raised eyebrows when Brandon shifted his attention from baseball to football; fortunately, the choice paid off. Before becoming a full-time mother, Melanie worked as an Employee Relations Coordinator at Ocean Dental in Stillwater, Oklahoma from 2009 to 2012. She has also worked as an account manager at Foundation Medical Staffing.
