Nicholas Caradoc Hoult was welcomed to the world on December 7, 1989, in Wokingham, Berkshire, by his parents Glenis (née Brown), a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult, a pilot. He has 2 sisters, Rosanna and Clarissa, who are both television actors, and he also has an older brother named James. Hoult received his early education at The Coombes Nursery in Arborfield, Berkshire, and attended the Arborfield Church of England Junior School. At the age of 12, he enrolled in acting studies at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but dropped out after 2 years and decided to attend a regular school instead. He eventually completed his secondary education at Ranelagh School in Berkshire.
