What Happened To Ross Of Fresh Prince: Where is He Now?

After “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” expired in 1996, Bagley appeared in many other films and movies. He played the lead role in the blockbuster hit Independence Day alongside Will Smith in 1996. He was cast as Smith’s stepson, Dylan Dubrow Hiller. Unfortunately, Bagley was not given the honor of appearing in the sequel to the Independence Day episode of Independence Day: “Resurrection”, which took place twenty years later. He was replaced by Jessie Usher.

After this time he disappeared from the limelight for almost a decade, only to reappear in 1999 in the NBC series Providence, which also starred Melina Kanakaredes. He played the voice of a monkey named Hutu in The Wild Thornberrys. After playing in The Wild Thornberrys, he disappeared again until 2005 when he starred in an episode of Judging Amy. Ten years later, Ross reappeared in the badly-received horror movie Gnome Alone.

He hasn’t been able to get another role since, but the former child actor hasn’t given up on his dream yet, as he is still hanging around the industry, hoping to join another comedy company very soon.

Ross Bagley hopes one day to share the same set with the likes of Kevin Hart, Denzel Washington, and Zach Galifianakis, as he did during his time as a child actor with Vivica A. Fox, Sally Field, and Will Smith.

When Ross Bagley was asked in an interview about his role and early fame in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, he said it was a great blessing to have been part of the show. In his opinion, the sitcom was and is one of his favorite shows as a child, long before he starred in it. “I still remember it coming on Monday nights and me and my babysitter watching it when I was a little boy, so it was surreal to be on it, to say the least,” he said.

Although he is not currently in the business, his active time has earned him several nominations and the Young Artist Awards. The awards include:

  • Best Performance by a Youth Ensemble in a Feature Film (The Little Rascals)
  • Best performance by an actor under the age of ten in a television series for his role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,
  • Best performance by an actor under ten years of age (television) for his role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,
  • Best performance in a feature film (Independence Day)
