Rihanna (34) probably didn’t know at first that there would be a big reveal at the Super Bowl this year! The singer revealed during her halftime show at the NFL Finals that she is expecting a second child. At a press conference two days earlier, there was nothing to be seen: she had skillfully hidden her small baby bump under a wide jacket. Announcing the pregnancy as part of the mega event was probably not her plan from the start: Rihanna only found out about it after her commitment!

Speaking to British Vogue, the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker revealed she accepted an offer to perform at the Super Bowl just under four months after giving birth to her first child. At the time, she didn’t know that she was expecting her second baby: “What the hell was I thinking? But you’re excited about such a challenge because you know what your body has just done. You feel that feeling of ‘Nothing is impossible’.” Since she had not been on stage for seven years, the whole thing was all the more blatant for her.

Rihanna only wanted to perform for her admirers at the Super Bowl. “It’s really just about getting back on stage for me – a crazy stage to come back to – but I’m really doing it for my fans,” emphasized the 34-year-old.
