Rebecca Maria Hall was born in London on May 3, 1982. She was born as the daughter of the renowned film director Peter Hall, who founded the renowned Royal Shakespeare Company. Peter Hall died in September 2017 at the age of 86. Hall’s mother, the opera singer Maria Ewing, has a mixed heritage of Sioux, African-American, Scots, and Dutch.

Hall’s parents divorced when she was still a child, but both would remain active in her life. She has about 5 siblings, including stepbrothers and stepsisters from her parents’ other marriages. All Hall’s siblings are either directly or indirectly involved in the entertainment industry. Her half-brothers on her father’s side, Edward and Christopher, are both filmmakers, while her half-sister on her mother’s side, Jennifer Caron Hall, is an actress. Her other half-sister Emma Hall is also an actress, while Lucy is a set designer.

Rebecca Hall grew up in all areas of show business and knew very early on that she only wanted to be an actress. In 1992, at the age of 10, she appeared in the television adaptation of The Camomile Lawn, directed by her father. After that, she appeared in several other television shows. Rebecca Hall is married to her actor colleague Morgan Spector, who is American. The couple first met on set when they played together in a Broadway production of the play Machinal in 2014. They spoke very privately about their romance, which turned out to be a very fast one, as they got married in 2015, just one year after they were together.

Hall had broken up with Skyfall director Sam Mendes a year after they separated before she met Spector. Their relationship began in 2011 after Mendes’ marriage to Kate Winslet ended in divorce. They had met on the set of Hall’s debut film Starter for 10, produced by Mendes, in 2006. Hall and Mendes lived together for two years before separating in 2013.

Although Hall and Spector kept their relationship very private, they were first seen in public in New York City in July 2015 when they held hands. Morgan Spector, who was born on October 4, 1980, in Santa Rosa, Northern California, began acting at the age of eight and starred in many school productions, and after graduating from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, he honed his acting skills at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
