“People think I put Britney down on ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me,’ but I always felt like her big sister, ” Pink told People. In their 2001 single, she sings that she’s tired of being compared to the pop princess: “She’s so pretty. It’s just not me.” However, this is not hostility to her colleague. Rather, pink refers to the pressure of competition and the ideals of beauty that make it difficult for female pop stars. Therefore, she wishes Britney only the best: “I want to protect her and she is the dearest person in the whole world.” Nevertheless, the musicians are not in contact with each other.
