The actress was born on 28 May 1979 in Brooklyn, New York City, as the daughter of Bill and Mary Keena. She is the youngest daughter and her older sister is Samantha. Raised by her mother and grandmother, the New Yorker attended Saint Ann’s School and was later accepted at LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts in acting and singing. Shortly after she started teaching at the school, Keena played her first role in the short film “Burning Love”.

Keena landed her very first movie in 1995 as a teenager with While You Were Sleeping. Later, the actress appeared in numerous films, including Law & Order. From March 1998 to May 1999, Brooklyn-born actress Abby Morgan played at Dawson’s Creek – allegedly asking to be written out of the play because she played the same character out of boredom.
In 2006 Keena played Celia in the film Left in Darkness. Before that, she worked on both television and film projects, including Bad Girls from Valley High, Man of the House, Long Distance, and Grey’s Anatomy.
