Karen McDougal was born on March 23, 1971, in Merrillville, Indiana. There is no information about her father, but her mother’s name is Carol McDougal. Karen also has four siblings – Bob, Dave, Jeff (her older brothers), and Tina (her younger sister). The former Playboy model has a mixed heritage that includes Scots, Irish, and Cherokee Indians. After her parents separated, her mother remarried when she was nine years old and Karen had to move with her siblings to Sawyer in Michigan. She dreamed of becoming a ballerina while growing up and studying ballet and tap dancing.

After graduating from university, she moved to Detriot to develop a professional career. Armed with her degree, she secured a job and began working as a preschool teacher. After her triumphs in successive swimsuit modeling contests she participated in and won (from local to international), she was discovered by photographer David Macey. David was a Playboy photographer at the time, and her career as a model with Playboy unfolded. Karen was named Playmate of the Month in the December 1997 issue of Playboy magazine, and in 1998 she was named Playmate of the Year, which earned her a car and a $100,000 cash prize. Karen was also voted Playmate Number 2 of the 1990s by the magazine’s subscribers.
After her time with Playboy, Karen McDougal became a fitness enthusiast and appeared in several men’s fitness magazines, including Iron Man. What is Her Relationship With Donald Trump?
In 2016 a story leaked out claiming that Karen McDougal had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006. Karen claimed that she met US President Donald J. Trump, then a wealthy billionaire, and the reality TV host of The Apprentice at a party organized by Playboy owner Hugh Hefner in June 2006 at the Playboy Mansion for the Trump Show candidates. This was the first time they met, after which a relationship broke out and they finally had sex at The Beverly Hills Hotel. She said this was the beginning of an affair that would last for ten months – between 2006 and 2007 when Trump was married to his current wife, Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States.

Karen also claimed that Donald Trump offered to pay her after they had sex, but she refused the money. The relationship continued, and she would be his partner whenever he was in Los Angeles. he soon began taking her to events. She said they had sex often, and they mostly met on his properties in New Jersey, California, and even in New York. When American Media Inc. (AMI), the publisher of the National Enquirer, got wind of the story, the publisher approached Karen with a request to “buy” the story. The deal took place in November 2016 and was worth $150,000. She wrote the story by hand in an 8-page document and gave it to her friend John Crawford who in turn gave it to the newspaper. But it wasn’t published. It forbade Karen to talk to anybody about the story, or she would pay $150,000.
In a CNN interview with host Anderson Cooper on Anderson Cooper 360, Karen claimed to have ended the affair in April 2007 because she felt guilty about what she was doing and apologized to the first lady for the affair with her husband on live television. She said she had never told the story because of the contract she signed. However, in March 2018 she filed a lawsuit against AMI in court and asked the courts to make her deal with the former “null and void” so she could testify.
