When you think of the women’s section of the WWE, think of Sasha Banks aka The Boss. With an early passion for wrestling, Sasha was born to entertain. She started as an independent wrestler in Boston and has worked her way up to the top. The WWE signed her in 2012 and she has become a star with many premieres.

Banks was born on 26 January 1992 as Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado in Fairfield, California. Her mother’s name is Judith Varnado. KV successfully defended the title many times and became the longest-reigning Chaotic Wrestling Women’s Champion in history. She broke Alexxis’s 182-day record.
During her time at CW, Sasha also fought in other independent circles such as the New England Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance.

Sasha joined WWE in 2012 when she was signed to the development brand NXT. After signing for WWE, she took on the nickname, Sasha Banks.
Her time with NXT ended in October 2015 when she won the NXT Women’s Championship. She had some outstanding moments with the brand, including the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn match that won Game of the Year at the NXT Year-End Awards. Her NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn: Respect Main Event match was the first 30-minute Iron Man match for women in WWE history.
Sasha then joined the RAW brand in 2016 and won her first match against Charlotte to become the defending champion in the WWE Women’s Championship. She lost the title in a return match but would win it back in October 2016.
Banks made history when she challenged Charlotte in her first women’s game Hell in a Cell against Charlotte to fight for the title. The game also went down in history when it was the first women’s game to be played in a pay-per-view event in Hell in a Cell. Banks lost the game but recovered the title.
