Brief Bio – Evgeni Malkin

Evgeni Malkin was born on 31 July 1986 in Magnitogorsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. His birth name, however, is quite long, it is Evgeni (Jewgeni) Vladimirovich Malkin. His mother is Natalia Malkin and his father is Vladimir Malkin. His father had played in the youth and club hockey system of Metallurg Magnitogorsk, and when his little son started to take a keen interest in this sport, it was only natural that he received his father’s support to become a professional. Malkin started skating at the age of three and joined his first organized hockey league at the age of five.

Metallurg Magnitogorsk, Malkin’s hometown club, formed the basis for Evgeni Malkin to continue and become a hockey player. He made his debut in the Russian Superleague when he was just 17 years old in the 2003/04 season. He brought pride to the motherland when he first represented Russia at the 2003 U-18 World Championship when the team later won the bronze medal. His time with Metallurg Magnitogorsk seemed to come to an end after his first professional season, as he was drafted into the NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2004.

The transfer, however, came to a halt due to a dispute between the NHL and the International Ice Hockey Federation which made it necessary to postpone the transfer. Malkin’s relationship with Metallurg Magnitogorsk was tense, to say the least, and two years later, on 5 September 2006, he signed an entry draft with the Penguins. The road that led Malkin to the Penguins was quite complicated, and his old team even had to file an antitrust suit against the NHL and the Penguins. However, the suit was dismissed on the grounds that it was unfounded.

When the dust settled on the Transfer saga, Malkin began to do what he knew best. The young man was so good that he set a modern NHL record in his first six games and scored goals in every game. At the end of his first year, he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the best newcomer in the NHL. During his years with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he achieved both personal and team successes.

Among the honors and awards, he received during his time with the Penguins is winning the Stanley Cup three times – 2009, 2016, and 2017; Conn Smythe Trophy 2009, Hart Memorial Trophy, and Ted Lindsay Award, both 2012; NHL First All-Star Team 2008, 2009 and 2012; NHL All-Star Game 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Malkin fought at the top of the hockey game. He has participated in two IIHF U18 World Championships and three IIHF U20 World Championships. He has won one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. Kasterova has made a career on television and hosts the morning show “Morning Russia”. Her career began at the age of 22, she was the editor of the Moscow program of the TNT channel: Instructions for Use. Anna has worked with the BBC, NTV, and Russia 2.

Evgeni started with the beautiful Anna Kasterova in 2013. Kasterova was the main actress in a reality show I – The Police in 2014.
