Ereck Flowers Bio

Ereck Flowers was born on April 25, 1994, in Miami, Florida, to his parents Tanya Stokes and Everald Flowers. Ereck attended Miami Norland High School, where he played both basketball and soccer before deciding to play soccer. He was so good at the game that he was ranked 20th best offensive tackle in his class. After high school, there were several schools that offered him admissions, such as Purdue University, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, and the University of Miami Florida, which he preferred over the others.

As a freshman at the University of Miami, Ereck Flowers played 12 games in 2012 with the right tackle and made four starts. In 2013, in his sophomore year, he played his 12 games on the left tackle and at the end of 2014 made the bold decision to enter the NFL draft in 2015 and give up his senior year.

Ereck Flowers Career

Ereck Flowers was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft 2015, making it the ninth overall pick of the New York Giants. At the signing of the contract, Ereck acted as its own agent and signed a four-year contract worth $14.4 million on June 15, 2015. Many believed he had saved about $430,000 to represent himself. This unique act was unexpected for the boy but was considered a brilliant move. Despite high expectations, Ereck’s performance so far has been below average, which disappointed football fans, analysts, and even his team, the New York Giants. In almost every game he took tons of penalties for the team. He was even called a burden on the team because he was unable to cover up openings on the pitch.

His game was considered in need of improvement when he registered 318 blocking passes, 77 blocking passes, and 0-passes in November 2017. Although the results show that he is beginning to resemble the man the Giants wanted, more was expected of him. The small improvement cannot deny his incompetence in the last years. The New York Giants replaced him on March 15, 2018, with Nate Solder, a much older and more experienced player who plays the left tackle.

In an interview, he reaffirmed his love for football and said that he would give his best in any position he was asked to play in as long as he remained in football.
