She joined the team of correspondents for the Comedy Central News talk show The Daily Show in 2015 after the long-time presenter Jon Stewart was replaced by South African comedian Trevor Noah. Before her appointment in September 2015, The Daily Show was often criticized for the lack of diversity in its correspondents. Besides Dysic, Ronny Chieng, and Roy Wood, Jr., both also comedians, are other correspondents who joined the show.

Before joining Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, Desi Lydic had appeared in numerous television series, including the MTV comedy hit series Awkward. In Awkward, the actress played the role of crazy high school counselor Valerie Marks. Desi Lydic was born on 30 June 1981 in Summit, New Jersey, USA, as Lani Desmonet Lydic. However, she grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She studied at the Young Actors Institute at the Youth Performing Arts School in Kentucky. The actress also studied and performed at the renowned theatre schools The Groundlings and Improv Olympic. Desi Lydic made her acting debut in 2001 in the parody film Not Another Teen Movie. The talented actress also played the lead role in 5 episodes of Spike TV’s Invasion Iowa (2005). She also starred in the short-lived NBC parody series The Real Wedding Crashers (2007). Before her popular role as a crazy high school counselor in Awkward, Lydic also received numerous TV credits, including The League (2010) on FXX and Two and a Half Men (2010) on CBS. He is also an actor, and his films include Doppelganger (2001) and King’s Highway (2002). Gannon Brousseau also played the lead role in 4 episodes of the 2010 comedy series Bandwagon: The Series.

The couple made the Bund on September 13, 2014, in West Hollywood, California. Although Lydic lives in the limelight, they managed to keep their lives private, even though their marriage was relatively insignificant.
