Desi Lydic is an American actress, comedian, and TV presenter. She joined the team of correspondents for the Comedy Central News talk show The Daily Show in 2015 after the long-time presenter Jon Stewart was replaced by South African comedian Trevor Noah. Before her appointment in September 2015, The Daily Show was often criticized for the lack of diversity in its correspondents. Besides Dysic, Ronny Chieng, and Roy Wood, Jr., both also comedians, are other correspondents who joined the show.
Before joining Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, Desi Lydic had appeared in numerous television series, including the MTV comedy hit series Awkward. In Awkward, the actress played the role of crazy high school counselor Valerie Marks. Desi Lydic was born on 30 June 1981 in Summit, New Jersey, USA, as Lani Desmonet Lydic. However, she grew up in Louisville, Kentucky.
