The Briton was born on 14 August 1968 in London England. Her father Peter Bell is Scottish, while her mother Mina Ezzati is Iranian. Her father worked as an architect for an oil company, while her mother Mina had emigrated to London to study nursing. The two immediately felt connected and married a little later. However, when Catherine was two years old, they divorced and Catherine was then in the care of her mother. She was then raised by her mother’s family, who eventually moved to the San Fernando Valley in California. The family traditionally consisted of her grandmother and grandfather.

Her family was diverse and one could say that Catherine Bell had a balanced childhood. Her grandparents were, as expected, Muslims, they spoke Persian in their house, but she was raised Catholic and even attended a Baptist summer camp at times.
As she grew up, she was influenced by the Californian culture that surrounded her; Catherine loved to skateboard, play soccer, and was a tomboy even as a teenager. She went to school at Our Lady of Corvallis High School in Los Angeles, where she also liked to model. She was admitted to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to earn a degree in research and medicine, but dropped out in her sophomore year when the modeling company American Beauty offered her a modeling job in the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan. After her return to the USA, Catherine Bell began studying at the Beverly Hills Playhouse with Milton Katselas. At the same time, she worked as a massage therapist, which she probably learned during her stay in Japan, and had some high-profile clients like Peter Gabriel, a singer, and many others.
She made her acting debut in Sugar and Spice, a short-lived 1990 sitcom, followed by her role as Isabella Rossellini’s nude body double for the 1992 film Death Becomes Her. In 1994 she starred in Men of War by Dolph Lundgren, and the following year she played a three-line role in an episode of the NBC television series JAG. NBC canceled the series, and this paved the way for CBS to resume and restructure the series. They then took on the character of a female Navy lawyer named Sarah Mackenzie, who was later played by our dear Catherine Bell after she applied and won. She remained in that role, contributing to her successes and enjoying it until the end of the series in 2005.
In 2007, she starred in the Lifetime drama series Army Wives as Denise Sherwood, the wife of a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. The talented actress also played the role of Cassie, the main character in the series All Good Witches; The Gift of the Good Witch (2010), The Family of the Good Witch (2011), The Spell of the Good Witch (2012), The Fate of the Good Witch (2013) and The Miracle of the Good Witch (2014). Not only did she play a role, but she was also the co-executive producer of the series.

Catherine Bell was once a married woman. She met the screenwriter, actor, and production assistant Adam Beason during the shooting of the 1992 film “Death Becomes Her”. The two got along without much fuss and married on 8 May 1994. Their marriage produced two children: a daughter born in 2003 named Gemma and a son born in 2010 named Ronan. They lived in a 700 square meter Tuscan style mini-villa in Calabasas, California, before selling the house in 2010 and separating in 2011. Their divorce was finalized in September 2015, and they have not been in any other known relationship since.
