Career

He began playing for the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) before playing for the New York Canadians of the Greater Toronto Hockey League. He spent most of his minor hockey career with the Barrie Icemen and Ajax Knights of OMHA, and for two years he also played in the Metropolitan Toronto Hockey League (MTHL).

National Team

On the international stage of the NHL, Brent Burns helped his country, Canada, won silver at the 2008 World Cup as the host nation and was named the tournament’s best defender. Later, he was to win the gold medal with the national team at the 2015 World Cup.

In the summer of 2016, he also helped his home country win the World Hockey Championship.
