Blake Bortles is a famous American quarterback who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. Blake Bortles Bio

Blake was born on April 28, 1992, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, USA, into a family of athletes. His father, Rob Bortles, was a wrestler and soccer player during his high school days, and his mother was a high school softball player. While playing soccer, his brother Colby holds up the ball on the baseball field. He was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 22nd round of the MLB draft.

The soccer star attended high school at Oviedo High School in Oviedo, Florida. During his school years, he was an outstanding player in both the soccer and baseball teams. When he left high school, Blake was listed as the #44 professional quarterback in his class and was named a three-star recruit by Rivals.com (a network of websites focusing primarily on college football and basketball recruitment in the United States). Blake ended his high school career with a Seminole County record of 5,576 career pass yards and 53 touchdowns.

It was time to go to college, and several college football teams wanted him on their team. He received offers from the state of Colorado, Purdue, Tulane, Western Kentucky, and the UFC. But Blake had to make a decision, and he did. He accepted the UFC, which was not only close to where he lived but was also the first college to offer him a scholarship.

In college, he not only repeated his success but trumped everything he did for his high school team. A true newcomer, he was retired in 2010 and 2011. He played 10 games and completed 75 of 110 passes over 958 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. In 2012 he was the starting quarterback and started all 14 games of the season. Blake completed 22 of 32 passes for 271 yards with three touchdowns and 79 interceptions against the Ball State Cardinals and was named MVP of the 2012 Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl.

The next season (2013) he led his team to their first major bowl victory in school history, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, with a crushing victory over fifth-placed Baylor (52-42). Blake Bortles was named the Fiesta Bowl offensive MVP of the game.

He left the senior national team season to join the 2014 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars on May 8 as quarterback for the first round, the third overall selection. Blake was the first of 14 quarterbacks to be drafted. On June 18, 2014, he signed his contract as a rookie for 4 years, and in September of the same year, he made his regular-season debut and started his first professional career in a game against the San Diego Chargers.

Despite wins and losses, challenges, and criticism, Blake extended his contract with the Jaguars on 24 February 2018 when he signed a three-year contract to stay with the team until the 2020 season.

Girlfriend or Wife, Is Blake Married?

The Jaguar quarterback from Jacksonville is currently single and has never been married. However, he was in a relationship that has not escaped the public eye with a model, Lindsay Duke. Lindsay was his high school sweetheart and they were together until 2014 when they finally split up. The cause of their separation was not apparent, but there was speculation that Blake pulled the curtain.

He doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to start a relationship since most of his attention is focused on his career. He would take the necessary step to become addicted if he felt the time was right.

His Salary and Net Worth

Blake is an exceptional quarterback and every team would love to have him, but Jacksonville Jaguars still keeps him and will have more of him for some time to come. The outstanding footballer has an estimated net worth of $11 million earned through years of professional football and brand support – the wealth is well deserved.

In June 2014, he signed his contract as a newcomer worth $20.6 million with a four-year guarantee with the team. His contract with the Jaguars was extended by three years on 24 February 2018 when he signed a contract worth $54 million.
