Selena Gomez (30) speaks plain text! The beauty has retired in recent years – it’s been three years since her last music album. Selena returned last year with the crime series “Only Murders in the Building” and her own documentary. But the musician is also currently celebrating a small comeback online. But what actually made Selena stop using social media?
Though the 30-year-old didn’t name a name, she hinted in an interview with Vanity Fair that her relationship with Justin Bieber, 28, made her do it: “I was going through a tough time during the breakup and I didn’t want to hear the reactions – not just those related to the relationship, but especially those that compared me to someone else.” The comments were so “specific and mean” that the “Rare” hitmaker “cried all the time.” Today, her social media accounts are run by her team: “I developed a system. Everything I do, I send to my assistant, who then posts it.”
Nevertheless, the ex-Disney star also sees the good side of social media: “There are wonderful things on social media – connecting with fans, seeing how happy and excited they are.” Selena doesn’t want to give up social media completely either – she’s a big TikTok fan: “I’m kind of a nerd. I love making funny videos. I get recipes and makeup ideas and hair ideas.”
