Alec Baldwin (64) seems determined! After tragedy struck on the actor’s set he faced a five-year sentence: In 2021 the producer fired a shot from his prop gun killing camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42). A few days ago he was finally charged with manslaughter. But Alec seems anything but hopeless and wants to go to court voluntarily!
As reported by Fox News who spoke to a legal expert: “Now that the prosecutor’s office is out of control and there is no five-year sentence facing him Baldwin and his lawyers are likely to roll the dice and take the case to court.” This could be an advantage for the 64-year-old as the former federal prosecutor explained: “They have a very strong defense the jury likes celebrities and even if Baldwin is convicted he only faces a maximum of 18 months in prison.”
Alec originally faced a five-year prison sentence which was dropped a few days ago. According to Fox News, he now faces 18 months behind bars as a spokesman explained: “In order to avoid further procedural distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys the District Attorney and Special Prosecutor have approved the addendum of firearms to the involuntary manslaughter charge related to the… Death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust’ overturned.”
