In the superhero drama series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Dean Cain played Clark Kent/Superman alongside Teri Hatcher, who played Lois Lane. The series ran over four seasons with 87 episodes shown from the premiere date September 12, 1993, to June 14, 1997. Dean Cain’s Early Life

Dean Cain was born on 31 July 1966 at a US Air Force base in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He was born as Dean George Tanaka as the son of the US soldier Roger Tanaka and the actress Sharon Thomas. He is of mixed origin, with Japanese, Irish, Welsh, and French-Canadian roots. The actor has an older brother named Roger. Cain never met his biological father because Sharon moved him and his brother to Los Angeles shortly after his birth for her acting career. She met film director Christopher Cain and married him in 1969, Christopher adopted Dean and Roger, which led Dean to change his last name from Tanaka to Cain. He also has a half-sister, Krisinda Cain from his mother’s second marriage.

Dean Cain attended Santa Monica High School in California alongside American actors Charlie Sheen, Rob Lowe, and Chad Lowe. Cain excelled in sports during high school and was part of the baseball team. After graduating high school, he transferred to Princeton University and continued his sporting excellence by joining the university’s football team as a free safety. By the end of his college football days, Dean had 22 interceptions in 30 games. In 1988, he graduated with a BA in history.

With his outstanding performance in football, Dean Cain had his sights set on a professional career in sport. He signed with the Buffalo Bills as a freelancer for the NFL team in 1988, as soon as he graduated college. Unfortunately, a knee injury during the training camp made a career in football or sports impossible. Unimpressed, Cain switched to screenwriting and acting and appeared in several commercials and popular TV shows such as A Different World and Beverly Hills, 90210.

The groundbreaking role, and his greatest to date, was when Dean Cain was cast as Clark Kent/Superman in the 1993 ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. From 1993 to 1997, he ran four seasons and starred in all 87 episodes. With his great popularity, one episode of the series had an average of 15 million viewers.

After the end of the series, Cain Angry founded Dragon Entertainment, a production company responsible for the TBS documentary series Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Dean Cain has starred in several other movies, both on the big screen and as an independent, with roles ranging from the big to the small. Dean Cain could be called a holiday person, considering that he has starred in sixteen different Christmas movies. It seems that despite the relationships he has entered into, the actor hasn’t been able to settle down. When he was a student at Princeton, Cain dated the American actress Brooke Shields for two years before they separated. He later dated singer Mindy McCready, who became engaged to the duo in 1997. This never led to marriage and instead the couple separated just one year later. He was associated with high-profile women like Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards, but nothing says that these were not just rumors.

Maybe Dean Cain’s most serious relationship is the one he had with his Playboy playmate Samantha Torres. Reports show that the couple has been dating since 1999. They became pregnant, and on June 11, 2000, their son Christopher was born. Although the couple is no longer together, they share joint custody.
