Since one of his brothers is in jail for murder and another one was shot dead in elementary school, it is almost certain that the American rapper Young Thug had a tough start in life.

He is no stranger to juvie, as he and his 11 siblings all had a problem with the law. Nevertheless, his very rocky start did not stop him from following his dreams and looking where he is now. Since breaking into the music world in 2013, Young Thug has worked with a number of prominent rappers including Kanye West, Drake, Rich Homie, Birdman, T.I., and Gucci Mane. In addition to the big guns in the industry, the young rapper has also received a lot of support from his fans.

While he became a celebrity in 2013, Thug’s initial popularity began to grow in 2011 when he started working with the above-mentioned artists.

Young Thug Wiki

Young Thug was born on August 16, 1991, as Jeffery Lamar Williams and is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Atlanta, the rapper had one of those beginnings that leave a broken life for most people. He was born in Sylvan Hills as the tenth of eleven children and grew up in the projects of Jonesboro South, which were later demolished. Life was so harsh that Thug received his fair share of lawsuits alongside his many siblings. But he could get something good out of all this.

Although he didn’t plan on becoming a rapper for long, his unconventional singing style and sense of fashion attracted so much attention, especially after working with such renowned rappers as Rich Homie Quan, Birdman, Cash Out, Shawty Lo, and Gucci Mane. His music is mostly free of traditional rap lyrics and sometimes incomprehensible meaning.

Just before he tasted fame, Young Thug first released a series of independent mixtapes, starting in 2011 with I Came From Nothing. He later signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad Records in early 2013, paving the way for the spotlight to find him. Shortly after the record deal, he released his debut mixtape 1017 Thug, which was critically acclaimed. This comes after the release of the first three parts of his mixtape series I Came from Nothing in 2011 and 2012, and if you ask me, listening to the parts caught Mane’s attention.

1017 Thug made waves in the industry with many milestones and praise from music critics. It was also ranked 96th by Pitchfork as one of the best albums of the first half of the decade 2010. His success wasn’t about to let up, as Young recorded further milestones in his career in 2014. Under 1017 Brick Squad he recorded several songs with Kayne West, Rich Homie, and Chief Keef and even made it onto the cover of “The Fader”. In March 2014, he announced the release of his debut album, which was to be titled Carter 6, as proof of his admiration for Lil Wayne’s hit album Tha Carter. However, Wayne didn’t like the tribute, and he didn’t mince his words to inform fans of his feelings. So Young, who claimed that he was threatened with lawsuits, announced that he would change the title to “Barter 6”.

A few hit tracks and mixtapes later Young is probably one of the A-listers of hip hop. He announced that he would start his own record label imprint called YSL Records. Apparently, he was fed up with all the drama that comes with signing contracts with record companies.

Milestones

He has several hit mixtapes, with “Barter 6” in the center. Perhaps as a result of his involvement with Lil Wayne at the time, the album was placed at #22 on the U.S. Billboard 200. But the success of the mixtape can also be attributed to his unconventional rap style.

His most famous single Picacho made it into the Top 100 tracks on both Rolling Stone and Pitchfork.  According to the December 4, 2014 issue of Rolling Stone, Young Thug is “the most exciting new voice in hip hop” and “the new crown prince of hip hop.

He was among the “25 new rappers to watch out for” in the bi-monthly fashion magazine Complex.

Young Thug has received several nominations, including the BET Hip-Hop Awards in the Who Blow Up, Best Hip-Hop Style and Best Club Banger categories, and the BET Awards in Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award 2014 and 2015.

At only 26 years old, Young Thug already has six children – three girls and three boys from four women. He is said to have had his first child at the age of 17 or 14. However, he has not yet led any woman to the altar, although he has put a ring around one of them. Young became engaged to Jerrika Karlae in April 2015. Karla runs a swimsuit line while her mother manages the rapper, Young Dolph. And in case you’re wondering when the couple will enter into the marriage bond, it may never happen, because they will separate later in 2017.

Meanwhile, one of Young’s daughters has set the Internet on fire with her rapper skills. A video showing her dancing and spitting a freestyle better than most adult rappers was distributed in 2016 and caused quite a stir. See it here.

Young Thug Height, Teeth

The Atlanta-born rapper Young Thug is 6 feet 3 inches (1.91m) tall. While you normally see him with dental fences, we are always amazed at his beautiful, neatly arranged white teeth when Young takes them off.

Is Young Thug Gay?

While his sexual orientation is widely known as heterosexual, the rapper seems to welcome controversy at every available opportunity. Shortly after becoming engaged to Karlae, Young clumsily declared himself homosexual. This assertion is apparently not valid, as he has not been seen with a man since then.

Again, Young has this strange love for women’s clothes and doesn’t blink before wearing them at public events or in his music videos. From tank tops to skirts, the rapper rocks them all. Hence the speculation that he might be gay.
