Gerald Green was born on 26 January 1986 in Houston, Texas, USA, and is a professional basketball player for the National Basket Ball Association (NBA). He began playing in his second year at Gulf Shores Academy High School in Houston, Texas when he entered the Junior University of J. Frank Dobie High School. He later moved to the Gulf Shore Academy for a repeat of his junior year, having encountered some challenges in his previous high school. During his time with Golf Shore in his senior year, Green averaged 33 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocked shots per game. This made him the top scorer of the 2005 McDonald’s All-American Game, and the same year the young player won the McDonald’s All-American Slam Dunk Contest after defeating future Duke player Josh McRoberts.
