The Mercedes first hit a Holden, which then crashed into a Mazda that was traveling in the opposite direction. Accident in Maryborough: Victims Identified
The accident led to the death of three people, including two women who were in the Holden. The two women who died in the car accident were a 17-year-old girl from Oakhurst and a 29-year-old woman from Maryborough.
A 23-year-old woman from Tinana was also in the car and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She is in critical condition and is receiving treatment. The Mazda driver, a 52-year-old woman from Torquay, also died on the spot.

The tragedy has left the community in shock, especially since one of the victims was a well-respected nurse who had just finished her shift at Maryborough Hospital. The other victim in critical condition is a member of the police force in the Fraser Coast region.
