Why didn’t Paris Hilton (42) even tell her family about her offspring? In mid-January, the hotel heiress shared both sweet and surprising news with her fans: She and her husband Carter Reum became parents of a son through a surrogate mother. The little one goes by the name of Phoenix Barron. Paris kept the birth of her child to herself for over a week – and now she reveals why.

In her podcast “This Is Paris” the 42-year-old spoke about her baby’s happiness. Since her life has always been so public, she wanted to keep it to herself this time. “Not even my mom, my sisters, and my best friend knew until he was over a week old,” the blonde revealed, adding, ” It was really nice to have that with Carter .” She was also afraid that the news would leak to the media. “So Carter and I literally made a pact that we weren’t going to tell anyone, and nobody knew until recently,” she said.
