Lisa Marie Presley’s (54) sudden death shocked the world in early January. Numerous fans mourn the only daughter of Elvis Presley (42). A statement from the relatives of her deceased ex-husband Michael Jackson (50) was then published. The singer was married to the music legend for 18 months in the 90s. A few weeks after Lisa’s death, more details about the separation came to light: Michael’s drug addiction was the reason for the divorce!

An insider revealed this to TMZ. “Michael’s addiction to painkillers was the main reason [for the divorce],” the source explained. The “Thriller” singer suffered a burned head in 1994. After that, he developed such an addiction to painkillers that he could hardly concentrate on and became increasingly unstable. That gradually broke up the marriage: “Lisa Marie spent less and less time at Neverland Ranch, and when she did, she slept in a separate bedroom.”

But not only the drugs apparently caused the love of the two. The later wife of the King of Pops, Debbie Rowe (64), is also said to have contributed to the separation. According to the online magazine, she had provided the musician with pills before the two finally started an affair during his marriage.
