Halls has accompanied Matt Bomer since the early 2000s or even further back. However, they never confirmed their sexuality to the public, as it was always considered an open secret. That ended in 2012 when Bomer Halls honored Halls at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Award ceremony.

“I would like to thank my beautiful family in particular: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry,” said the Last Tycoon actor. “Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest achievement. God bless you.”

Simon later responded to the open proclamation that Bomer made in his heart “I was in the audience, and I didn’t think any more than it was very sweet,” he told OUT magazine. I was proud that my husband up there received an award, and I was touched that he thanked us.

Sources have claimed that Simons met Matt while working as a PR manager. However, in an interview with the 2015 Hollywood Reporter, Matt stated that he had his own publicist.

“Like any partner in a relationship, I seek advice, but I have my own publicist. We have three children under the age of 10, so we don’t have time to talk about [the work]. We are more concerned with making lunch and getting everyone to school on time.

While the media thought that Simons only went out with Bomer, the latter revealed to OUT magazine in 2014 that they had married in 2011.

“It was very chilly. Very small – just our nearest and dearest,” Bomer told OUT magazine about her wedding. “There is a certainty, a validity, to know that it is legal. It’s hard to put it into words. It’s probably just a feeling – something about making a vow in front of the people around you who love and support you. I think it was good for our family.”

Simons and Matt started making babies back in 2005. The couple has three sons together, all born through surrogacy. Their first son Kit was born in 2005 and twins Walker and Henry were born in 2008.
