Sabrina McGillivray is a Canadian primary school teacher and part-time home renovator and designer who helps her husband Scott McGillivray create everything from room layouts to wardrobes, drapes, artwork, and custom furniture.

Her husband Scott McGillivray is a real estate investor and contractor, famous for hosting Income Property, HGTV Canada’s home improvement reality program. The husband of a Canadian blonde, Scott has been renovating homes for over 16 years, helping many people renovate their homes.

He is also popular as the host of several other home-improvement reality shows and is universally loved for helping couples find their dream home. Recently, however, Scott and Sabrina have turned their attention to cameras, building a forever home for themselves and their two children.

Although not much is known about her family, Scott once revealed that his wife Sabrina McGillivray, originally Anna Sabrina Deacetis, born around 1978, comes from a large family.

“Sabrina and I both have pretty big families, and being close to them is important to us. Of course, everyone lives in different towns,”

says in an interview in September 2017.

It is also often mentioned that she is descended from Portuguese and even Italian ancestry, although neither Sabrina nor her fiancé-husband has made these allegations.

What is known, however, is that Ms. McGillivray, who lost her mother in August 2018, was born in Maples, Ontario.

Her brother Carmen is a certified holistic nutritionist, personal trainer, co-owner of a fitness center, and manager of a fitness equipment store.

Sabrina McGillivray Education; She Used To Be A Dancer

Sabrina attended St Joan of Arc Catholic High School and went to college at York University in Toronto, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Medaille College in Buffalo, New York.

Sabrina danced as a child.

She trained under award-winning dance choreographer Anna Sprincis, at whose studio Dansecore she later taught jazz and tap.

As a dancer, she passed her Royal Academy of Dance exams.

She currently works for the York Catholic School District in Ontario, where he teaches third grade.

In 2006, her class was one of four to win the region-wide Healthy Lunch Challenge.

Sabrina And Her Husband Scott McGillivray; Where Did They Meet?

Sabrina married Scott on 22 June 2009.

The teacher and television personality and Scott met on the beach when they were on holiday.

Seeing his future wife, Scott invited Sabrina to join him for a game of volleyball.

However, the Klavina-born woman refused.

Later that evening, they bumped into each other, and this time Sabrina agreed to have a drink with him.

After that, they slowly started to build a relationship.

Their wedding took place around the same time as Scott began his journey on Income Property.

Although Sabrina and her husband have not shared many details of their big day, Scott posted the first dance with his newlywed wife on his YouTube channel in October 2011.

In the video, he and his bride stun the crowd and do some neat dance steps.

Their wedding dance made the celebration particularly memorable.

Later, Scott revealed that, although he was not a dance expert, a few months before the wedding, on Valentine’s Day, he surprised Sabrina with dance lessons.

Sabrina McGillivray Is A Mother Of Two Daughters

After their marriage, the Canadian couple welcomed two daughters, Myah and Layla.

On 25 January 2012, their first child, Myah McGillivray, was born.

A year later, the former child dancer and her husband became parents for the second time when they welcomed daughter No 2 Layla McGillivray at the end of 2013.

Although her husband Scott was born and raised in Toronto, when Sabrina and the screen home renovator first married, they were living in Brampton, ON.

However, they now divide their time between their home in Toronto and a second home in Fort Myers, Florida.

In Canada, they are said to have lived in a property in the northwest end of Toronto that Scott and his wife purchased in 2006.

What Does She Do?

Sabrina was a regular star in her husband’s career-defining TV series Income Property.

She and her husband also once invested in a house that had not yet been built.

After the end of Income Property, Sabrina joined the father of her children to star in his new TV series Moving The McGillivrays.

At first, it was a 10-part documentary series that showed television the McGillivrays’ efforts to build their dream home.

The series premiered in 2016.

While taking part in the series, Mrs. McGillivrais helped her husband design almost everything around the house and acted as the main designer.

Sabrina McGillivray Didn’t Want To Be In Moving The McGillivrays 

Surprisingly, Scott’s wife was initially against the idea of starring in a family reality show.

The reason Sabrina wasn’t keen on joining Scott in his new series was that she didn’t actually want to be on camera, nor did she want to let strangers into her home.

Later, Scott persuaded his wife by telling her that her contribution would be an integral part of the series, and eventually, she agreed.

Like Income Property, Moving the McGillivrays was warmly received by critics and viewers.

It is worth mentioning that Sabrina, her husband Scott, and their children also have their own YouTube series, Good to Grow.

It focuses on the family’s love and passion for gardening and growing their own food.

In addition to his work on home remodeling shows, Sabrina’s husband Scott has also been a judge on several TV shows such as All American Handyman and Canada’s Handyman Challenge.

In 2020, he started Scott’s Vacation House Rules. The new show has similarities to Income Property, as Scott advises homeowners on how to make money renovating their homes.

Income Property may no longer be on the air, but that does not mean that Scott’s fame or wealth has diminished or even stagnated.

In fact, it was just the start of his journey to world fame and a few steps into the world of millionaires. According to some recent reports, Sabrina’s carpenter/actor/investor/manager husband is worth somewhere between 4 and 5 million US dollars.

He also makes quite a bit of money from his more than 100 rental properties, many of which are apartment blocks, including 15 properties in Guelph. In addition, millions more come from his many television shows and his long-standing practice of investing in housing.

Other Facts

Sabrina does not have an active social media presence, with a blocked Instagram and a not-very-open Facebook. However, she seems to be passionate about DIY projects, home decor, and peacocks, which she often boasts about on other websites.

Scott tells us that Sabrina’s favorite food is a salad.

Her other favorite things are shopping, shoes, chocolate, and coffee.

Mr. McGillivray says that Sabrina is a bad policeman for their daughters.
