Ryan Braun is arguably one of the greatest players Major League Baseball has ever seen, and both his number and the awards he has received over the years are clear evidence of this. Ryan Joseph Braun was born on November 17, 1983, in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Joe and Diane Braun. Braun has a younger brother named Steve. Athletics seems to run in his family. His father Joe was himself an athlete and coach of a tee-ball team where Braun played.

As a child, Braun’s athletic side was immediately apparent. He played basketball and football, but after high school, he decided to concentrate on baseball. His performance on the school baseball team earned him LA Times recognition.

Braun received two baseball scholarships to Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley. However, he ignored both and chose the academic scholarship offered by the University of Miami. Braun performed exceptionally well in college, making him a finalist for one of the most prestigious college awards, the Golden Spikes Award.

Ryan Braun’s MLB career progressed spectacularly well until 2011 when it turned out that he failed a urine test and tested positive for high testosterone levels caused by taking performance-enhancing drugs. Braun successfully appealed the positive drug test and was the first player in the history of MLB to do so.

However, in June 2013, Braun, along with a number of other athletes, was linked to Biogenesis of America, a rejuvenation clinic that was found guilty of issuing PEDs to a number of athletes. Braun would later apologize for using PEDs. As punishment for his actions, Braun was suspended from the remaining games of the 2013 season (65), including the post-season games.

In April 2011, four years before his contract was due to expire, the brewers signed a five-year contract extension worth $105 million to keep him on the side until 2020. This brings his average annual salary to $21 million.

The agreement included a mutual option worth $20 million and a $4 million acquisition. Braun’s contract also included no-trade protection, which means that he will defer part of his salary.

Braun’s wife was born on February 1, 1989, in Toronto, Canada. In 1996, when she was 7 years old, her family moved to Alpine, Utah. She attended Lone Peak High School, which she graduated from in 2007, after which she enrolled at the University of Utah. She started modeling in college and was discovered by Pulse Management in her freshman year. She signed with Elite Models until 2008. Her body measurements are 32-23-35 centimeters.

Braun and his wife Larisa have two children together, including daughter Celine Elysse Braun, born in September 2014, and a son Greyson Braun, born in September 2017.
