Alec Baldwin’s (64) strategy in court shouldn’t surprise anyone! The actor is currently facing a court case for involuntary manslaughter. The reason: On the set of the western film “Rust”, a shot was fired from the prop gun in Baldwin’s hand, fatally injuring camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42). First, the Hollywood star had to fear up to five years in prison. In the meantime, however, the impending sentence has been reduced. Now the first hearings in the “Rust” process are pending – and Alec, unsurprisingly, pleaded “not guilty”!

Actually, the 64-year-old should appear virtually in court tomorrow for his plea. But Baldwin has now submitted his decision in advance: He pleads “not guilty” in the case of the manslaughter of Hutchins. Deadline quoted its lead attorney, Luke Nikas, as saying: “I certify that I have advised Mr. Baldwin of his right to appear in person in circuit court to plead not guilty and have his rights explained to him by the judge – and I believe that he will that Mr. Baldwin understands the waiver of those rights.” His testimony for tomorrow has now also been canceled.

Although the question of blame for Halyna’s death has yet to be determined, those responsible – including Alec – decided to resume filming on “Rust,” which has been on hiatus since the incident in October 2021. It should continue as early as spring 2023. Alec will return as the main actor, as will director Joel Souza (49), who was also injured in the accident. Halyna’s widower Mathew is said to be on board as an executive producer.
