Harrison Ford Wiki

Harrison Ford was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 31, 1942. His father, Christopher Ford, was an advertising specialist, and his mother, Dorothy Ford, was a former radio actress. Harrison was an active member of the Boy Scouts and rose to the rank of a Boy Scout, which is why Steven Spielberg cast the young Indiana Jones as a scout in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Harrison Ford attended Maine East High School in Park Ridge, where he became the school’s first spokesman for the new radio station. In his senior year, he was also the school’s first sports reporter, after which he graduated in 1960. He discovered his love of acting in his final year at Ripon College in Wisconsin when he attended an acting class to overcome his shyness and has remained fascinated by acting ever since.

But he didn’t have immediate success in his career. Harrison attended a summer camp season in Wisconsin in 1964. This was followed by small roles in unappreciated movies in 1966 and 1967, and he was finally recognized in the credits of the 1967 movie A Time For Killing. In the ’60s and 70’s he continued to play these supporting roles and even had to become a professional carpenter as a self-taught carpenter to provide for his wife and two sons at that time.

Harrison Ford finally broke through with his first leading role in Star Wars in 1977. He was originally hired to read the lines for the actors who were to audition for the movie. But he succeeded so well that filmmaker George Lucas cast him for the movie instead. The rest is, as they say, history.
