Carlos Bacca Bio
The Milan striker has great skills and qualities and is exceptionally competitive and wants more and more with every game he plays. But these are some of the most important ingredients that make a champion. Apart from the fact that he comes from a poor background, his hunger for success drives him even further beyond what he has his eyes on. He rejected the idea that his origins were going to take him back. However, Carlos, with what it takes to become a world-class champion, did not get a place in the arena until his mid-20s.
He understood that champions are not those who always win races, but those who go out and try, who play until they get it right. With this knowledge, Carlos developed the mind to win with enough guts to try harder each time the goal seems out of reach. In the end, he not only did it, but he also did it big time.
The Colombian goalscorer was born on 8 September 1986 in Puerto Colombia, Colombia, the son of Gilberto Bacca and Eloisa Ahumada. To help his family, he worked as a bus driver’s assistant, sold bus tickets, and also worked part-time as a fisherman to make ends meet during his football match. Apart from his love of hard work, he is also highly religious and always attributes his successes to God in interviews. He belongs to the evangelical Christian faith.
Carlos is a skilled and determined striker with an eye for goal, a married man, and also a father. He is the husband of Shayira Santiago and the father of her two children, a son Carlos Daniel Bacca and a daughter Karla Valentina Bacca. He is of mixed ethnicity and Spanish descent.

His Professional Career
His professional career began in 2006 with the Colombian club Atletico Junior. As usual, the hope of every player is to perform in the game and show off his talents and skills, so opportunities to do so are usually welcome. Carlos could not get many opportunities to play for his mother club and was loaned to FC Barranquilla in 2007, where he played 27 games and scored 12 goals. He sealed his fate as a top scorer. After his promotion, he was loaned to Venezuelan club Minervén for a second season. There he led them to second place in the league, scoring a dozen goals in 29 games before moving to Barranquilla for a second time.
He maintained his goalscoring record and eventually became the league’s top scorer with 14 goals in 19 games. Wow! After returning to Atletico Junior, he became the top scorer in the 2009 Copa Colombia as a regular first-team player. Carlos was also the winner and top scorer in the Primera A category for two consecutive years, with which the club won their sixth and seventh Colombian titles.
After dreaming of playing for a European club for a long time, Carlos finally secured a contract with the Belgian club Club Brugge and signed a three-year £1.5 million contract in early 2012. In that contract, he continued his goalscoring streak, although he had some difficulties before he made the breakthrough. In the 2012-2013 season, he was the league’s top scorer and was voted Player of the Year in Belgium. After maintaining his course in Bruges, he ended his career with a record of 28 goals in 45 league appearances.
His next tent was Spanish club Sevilla, who signed him on 9 July 2013 for a contract fee of 7 million euros for a five-year contract with a release clause of 30 million euros. He helped the club qualify for the 2015-2016 Champions League after their seven European goals, which also helped them retain their Europa League title.
Carlos’ 30 million euro settlement clause was activated by the Serie A club in Milan, which led to a deal in July 2015. Two years later, in August 2017, he was loaned for a year to the Spanish club Villarreal for a fee of 2.5 million euros.
He made his debut in his senior national team in 2010 and made his international debut in 2012. He was part of the 23-man squad that represented his country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He also made the leap to the 23-man squad for the 2015 Copa America and scored the winning goal that secured Colombia third place in the Copa America Centenario. Carlos Bacca has also been inducted into his national team’s 35-strong squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
