Although the stand-up comedian has become known as Michael Che, he was born on May 19, 1983, in Lower East Side, Manhattan, New York City, and baptized Michael Che Campbell. He also grew up in the Lower East Side.
He grew up in the very large family of Rose and Nathaniel Campbell as the youngest of their seven children. His immediate older sibling was 7 years old at birth, which meant that Che had many siblings to protect him.
Unfortunately, his parents separated when he was still young. As a result, the mother had to take three jobs to feed the children and make sure they didn’t lose the roof over their heads.

When he was 14 years old, he declared that he was already an adult, and so he was kicked out by his mother. He would later stay with his father before returning to his mother after his father’s marriage. However, it did not work out with them, and so he returned to his father.
Michael Che attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Arts and Performing Arts in Fiorello H. LaGuardia. He could draw very well as a child, but he didn’t take it too seriously when he attended art school.
The irony was that it was only after he finished school that he decided to take art more seriously. He continued with painting and other artistic works. He got a job at a Toyota dealership, which drove him to become more serious.
Michael got the opportunity to start his business and later work with Tommy Hilfiger, but somehow self-doubt didn’t let him take the second opportunity. Since he had nothing more to do, Michael Che decided to try comedy and so he started with stand-up comedy later in 2009.
He started his career in 2009, and in 2013 he became a writer for Saturday Night Live and in 2014 a correspondent for the Daily Show. He did not stay there for long, but his good works were obvious to see. Later, Che became a presenter for the SNL’s Weekend Update together with Colin Jost.
He has received many awards in his career, including two Writers Guild of America Awards for Comedy/variety and nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

Considering that he is a good-looking man who has had a lot of success so far, one would expect that he has probably settled down with a woman in his personal life. However, Michael Che is still not married. In fact, he revealed in September 2018 that he was still single at that time.

As mentioned above, Michael Che’s parents are Nathaniel Campbell and Rose Campbell. His father was a history buff who decided to name his son after the Argentine Marxist revolutionary leader Che Guevara.
